The ninety-fourth episode of Painter of the Night, brings both emotional satisfaction and peril in a single episode. Nakyum finally tells the truth, and the truth is discovered.
What an emotional roller coaster of an episode.
First, sadness for Nakyum as he tells us with his story of growing up with his Noonas. He may have been bullied and had some tough moments, but his noonas raiseed him with love and fun, so his life was pretty good.
Pretty good.. all is going good, until Nakyum mentions Inhun and triggers Seungho’s insecurities… but now, it’s not just about Inhun’s emotional hold on Nakyum.
Especially after telling Noona he doesn’t give a shit about some dead scholar, leave Nakyum alone. He starts reacting badly. But Nakyum is having none of that, and quickly and firmly tells him the truth: I am in love with you My Lord.
And… Seungho’s stunned face… blank and numb. Meanwhile, somewhere, elsewhere… they’re digging up a dead body.
I just… I can’t even with byeonduck’s pitched weaving of drama in with these glorious moments right his second.
Let me focus instead on praising the exquisite panels in this episode. The details, the setting… the angles and use of colour… they all evoke the most romantic of settings.
I love that Nakyum chose this place, his childhood home to tell Seungho he loved him. i am gagging waiting on the next episode.
Oh no no no no no no. My heart is racing from the whiplash of events that just happened.
The sad parts of Nakyum’s childhood. A freaking love confession straight from the depths of his heart, the build of rage and jealousy overtaking Seungho, the discovery of the body and the potential for arrest or separation of these two.
Oh god I cat breathe it’s too much.
But on a lighter note: The scenery is absolutely breathtaking and I am in awe of the details and layout we’re shown.
