Painter of the Night’s 96th episode delivers the emotional payoffs for those of us who have stuck with the story. And when I tell you the feels… if you thought Painter of the Night Episode 95 was a heartstopper, we’re near comatose from sugar overload around here. Bodies are working overtime to produce insulin. What a gorgeous episode… Art, emotional and character development, even the pettiest moment was beautifully done. Sorry Heena, mind ya business.

As a reader, if this episode didn’t make your heart explode, so close on the heels of last week’s heart stopping confession, I honestly don’t know how you can call yourself a fan. The entire POTN fandom is screaming with this episode.Seungho finally lets his guard down. After 95 chapters, he tells the truth and is finally honest with Nakyum and CONFESSES!

Meanwhile, fast ass Heena really though she was going to bust up somethin’, but got stopped right in her tracks… not just with the realisation that it was probably, definitely too late for her to ‘save’ Nakyum, but also, that it was mutual. If she didn’t know it, Seungho made sure she knew.

Fucked the door right off it’s fucking moorings, ummm hmmm. He definitely did that. Nakyum may have made him change the worst of his ways, but he’s still enough a bad boy to give Heena here congée with a cold eye and steel in his jaw.My guffaws at him looking around after they’d broken the door down and Nakyum utterly wasted, I cackled. Like a hyena…

This is possibly my favourite episode of this series, and I didn’t think byeonDuck could top last week’s episode with that incredible panel of Seungho’s face melting with love, but this, this was worth the terror of the first twenty or so episodes.Seungho’s blushes killed me this episode… I’m so used to Nakyum blushing all the time, that I wasn’t ready for this level of heat and flame in Seungho’s cheeks.

Seungho, you fool, you besotted sap, you precious soul only just now realizing what could be and what has already been.

It’s this scene, above all others, that really makes you feel  like a voyeur, intruding on an intimate moment you have no business being privy to. Lord forgive me, but I was not ready. Seungho’s answering confession was both a demand and a plea, and it gripped my heart strings and my lungs waiting to see what happens next.

And mercy me, I was not left disappointed.

Je suis prête, Jesus take me right here and now. Broke a whole damn door, caught in flagrante delicto by Heena and someone else, and I’m just sitting here shook.

What a masterpiece.
